What is the Work?[]
Maxeeno Manervolkan is a WEBTOON webcomic created by Elmtree Comics. It follows the titular hero, an adventurous and mischievous African-American boy who wants to be a Wildman in order to live a wild and free life.
Who is the Candidate?[]
Maxeeno Manervolkan is the titular main protagonist of the WEBTOON webcomic of the same name.
What Makes Him a Sonic Expy?[]
- Heroic/Honorable: Maxeeno has nursed an injured puppy to health and saves his best friend Radite from being killed by Principal Strickweb.
- Chaotic Good: Given his desire to be a wild and free Wildman, Maxeeno lives by his own rules and isn't above breaking rules established by society to do the right thing.
- Energetic: Maxeeno is rather hyperactive, hot-blooded and generally a thrill-seeker, especially when it comes to adventure and battle.
- Confident/Cocky: Maxeeno has lots of faith in his strength to follow his path of adventure and freedom and can be overconfident and underestimating of his opponents at times.
- Rebellious: Maxeeno breaks school rules on a daily basis, frequently gets into trouble with authority figures and sometimes skips school.
- Charismatic: While most people perceive him as a wild and hyperactive goofball at first glance, Maxeeno's optimism, courage, willpower and integrity draws people to him.
- Humorous/Witty: Much of Maxeeno's funny moments stems from how goofy he is, his tendency to cause mischief and make witty jokes.
- Has a Distinctive Style: Maxeeno is recognized by his spiky hair with blue tips and two black stars on his cheeks.
- Enthusiastic: Maxeeno has a natural love for action and adventure and is quick to jump into it.
- Playful/Mischievous: Maxeeno has a tendency to pull pranks and likes to come up with troublesome schemes for the fun of it.
- Loyal: Maxeeno refuses to turn his back on his friends, no matter the case.
- Protective: Maxeeno highly valued his friends' lives to the point of risking his life to save them from danger
- Adventurous: Maxeeno's love for adventure is what drives him to be a Wildman.
- Determined: Driven by his dream of living a wild and free lifestyle without regrets, Maxeeno is willing to make the best of his life and refuses to back down from a fight, no matter much he has been outmatched.
- Speedy/Agile: Maxeeno was born with the ability to run faster than the speed of sound.
- Uses Slang: Maxeeno creates his own slang words, namely Magmatude, largely to express his magmatic attitude.
- Likes Eating Fast Food: Maxeeno has a humongous appetite for fast food, namely pepperoni spinach pizzas, cheese fries and cheeseburgers.
- Likes Extreme Sports: Maxeeno likes to ride on his skateboard and bike.
- Likes Hip-Hop/Rock: Maxeeno enjoys listening to rap and metal, both separately and combined.
- Has Catchphrases: Maxeeno has several catchphrases, namely:

- Stylish and Trendsetting: Maxeeno wears a green polo shirt with a yellow fireball logo on it, a pair of blue jeans held by a purple belt and a pair of red sneakers with yellow accents and orange soles.
- Has an Unforgettable Presence: Maxeeno has a unique design that makes him stand out.
- Is a Daredevil: Maxeeno enjoys skateboarding off of ramps into greater heights in the air.
- Spiky Hair: Maxeeno has an afro full of curly liberty spikes.
- Unnatural Hair Color: At Steelchain Island, Maxeeno got the tips of his hair dyed blue.
Verdict?[]
Easy yes. I designed Maxeeno's character to be partially inspired by Sonic between his super speed and love for adventure. However, Maxeeno has his own uniqueness, such as his relatability, volcanic powers, authentic hipness, determined attitude, optimism, thirst for mischief and desire to live his life to the fullest despite his hardships.
Bonus: Unlike Sonic, Maxeeno is an anti-hero. While he is overall a kind-hearted person, he sometimes does heroics out of a hedonistic desire for adventure and mischief.
