Wild Woody is the titular main protagonist of the 1995 Sega CD video game of the same name.

He is voiced by Joe Kerska and motion captured by Donald Hom.

What Makes Him A Sonic Expy?[]

  • Heroic/Honorable: He brought back life on Earth and practically saved the universe from becoming too chaotic. In fact, when he was brought to life, he was more than willing and more than happy/excited to save the world as soon as he was asked.
  • Chaotic Good: He was more than willing to save the world as well as the universe out of his excitement, and for a pencil like him, he's shown to be somewhat chaotic in his own right.
  • Energetic: He is very energized in and out the CGI cutscenes. From Woody's cheery movements in game, to being full-blown enthusiastic in the enjoyably cheesy cutscenes.
  • Confident/Cocky: He exudes tons of confidence and self-assuredness in thwarting the villains with swagger and a sense of thrill.
  • Rebellious: He enjoys challenging the new norms and authority that the Totem Pole brothers established and goes against it.
  • Charismatic: Thanks to the cutscenes, he has a surprisingly hammy personality due to how he is portrayed in the cutscenes in such a goofy and exuberant fashion has made him incredibly memorable throughout the internet.
  • Humorous/Witty: Not only does he love cracking lots of jokes, but he also appears to have some sarcasm and loves throwing some witticisms in the cutscenes.
  • Has a Distinctive Style: Even though he's just a pencil with arms and legs, he stands out for his cartoonish design with gloves and shoes added to his limbs.
  • Enthusiastic: Throughout the game, he is always on the move and ready to take action in each world he goes to.
  • Playful/Mischievous: He loves to have a good time and causing a bit of chaos for fun in the worlds he explores.
  • Loyal: He is very loyal to Low Man no matter what happens.
  • Adventurous: Arguably his biggest personality trait, as he loves any exciting adventure that he gets into.
  • Determined: Even when Tombstone underestimated him, Woody simply refuses to let his opinion affect him and solely chooses to not give up saving the universe and the world.
  • Is a Mascot with Attitude: He has plenty of sass since his silly & larger-than-life personality best seen in the cutscenes, mixed with his daredevilish traits & goofy sense of humor, gives him a smug attitude that makes him stand out in a sassy and eccentric way.
  • Speedy/Agile: Only in the cutscenes shows him at his most speedy.
  • Uses Slang: He loves throwing slang like calling some of the totem pole heads names like "low boy", "fish boy", "remi", and even "busting a gut".
  • Likes Hip-Hop/Rock: He is always accompanied by percussion rock and roll music, which emphasizes the "wild" in his name.
  • Has Catchphrases: His very name "WIIIILLLLD Woody!" being his most frequent phrase he has in the game.
  • Has an Unforgettable Prescence: From his very name, down to his ludicrous desire for big-breasted women (mermaids and paintbrushes), simply makes him hard to forget and some can even find him a charming (or generally hilarious) character in a way.

Trivia[]

  • He has more similarities to Earthworm Jim than Sonic, who is also one of SEGA's most unforgettable characters.
